About Me

My name is Chau Phung and I am a graduate student pursuing an MBA at the University of Nevada, Reno. I have two bachelor’s degrees, one in Accounting and another one in Information Systems. I decide to pursue a master’s degree in business administration because I want to start my own business one day. I find that I need to learn more valuable skills and knowledge so I can be successful in my future career, and an MBA will give me the knowledge I need.

Ever since I was a child, I have always loved cooking and making desserts. I started to learn how to cook and bake from a very young age. While the other children spent most of their free time playing outdoor, I spent most of my time in the kitchen with my three other sisters. I always find that cooking is very relaxing. Whenever I am too stressed out, I often start baking something sweet to enjoy or to share with my friends and loved ones.

Through my sweet treats, I was able to build better connections with other people around me. I also learned from my friends and colleagues that many of them also have a special interest in desserts just like I do. Desserts often remind them of their home and the most memorable moments with their family. For many people who are away from their family, including me, being able to enjoy their favorite dessert helps to bring back the sweetest memories. Instead of just posting the recipes, I want to share my little research and understanding on other countries’ desserts so that when we eat a dessert, we are not only enjoying its delicious taste but we are also connecting with other people’s culture.
